Chip Timing Guide

Connecting Race Results
to Hybrid Racing Platform

This guide walks through everything needed to get live chip data into your Gym TV and public leaderboard — from entering your Event ID through to the first split appearing on screen.

Polling (automatic)

HRP checks Race Results every ~15 seconds while the event is live. No setup needed beyond the Event ID — works out of the box.

Webhook push (real-time)

Race Results pushes each chip crossing to HRP the instant it's recorded. Requires a one-time webhook setup in Race Results. Recommended for Gym TV.

Part 1 — Set up in HRP

1

Create your event with chip timing selected

In your organisation dashboard, create a new event. In the wizard, set:

  • Timing method → Chip timing
  • Mode → Live (for real-time Gym TV) or Results only (post-event import)

If the event already exists, open it → Edit event → change the timing method there.

2

Open the Race Day tab

From your event management page, click the Race Day tab. The chip timing configuration panel appears at the top of this tab.

3

Enter your Race Results Event ID

In the Chip Provider Setup card:

  • Provider: Race Results (my.raceresult.com)
  • Event ID: the numeric ID from your Race Results event (e.g. 408736)

Find your Event ID in the URL when viewing your event in my.raceresult.com:
https://my.raceresult.com/408736/live

Click Save config.

4

Detect and map split columns

After saving, click Detect columns. HRP fetches the Race Results event config and discovers all split names (e.g. AfterRun1, AfterSki, Finish).

HRP automatically maps standard HYROX split names to stations. If you've used custom names in Race Results, use the column mapper to assign each one to the correct station manually.

5

Match bibs to athletes

Once provider and Event ID are saved, a bib-matching panel appears automatically below the column mapper. It shows every name on the Race Results start list alongside your registered athletes — link them up so the live Gym Display can show vs-PB deltas and record-pace banners with the correct athlete profile.

Use Import all from raceresult — HRP fetches all participants and their bibs from Race Results automatically so you don't need to enter them one by one.
6

Generate a webhook URL (for real-time updates)

In the Live Webhook section, click Generate webhook URL. This creates a unique secret token and shows a URL like:

https://…supabase.co/functions/v1/receive-raceresult-webhook?race_id=…&secret=…

Click Copy URL — you'll paste this into Race Results in Part 2.

The badge reads Active · last received HH:mm:ss once the first crossing arrives.

Part 2 — Set up in Race Results

1

Open your event in Race Results 14

Open the event file in the Race Results desktop software or via my.raceresult.com.

2

Navigate to webhook settings

Go to: Basic Settings → Access Rights / Simple API

Scroll to the Webhooks section.

3

Add a new webhook

Click Add and fill in:

FieldValue
TriggerNew Raw Data
Destination URLPaste the HRP webhook URL copied in Part 1 Step 6
FilterLeave blank — HRP needs every split crossing for live Gym TV
FieldsLeave blank — the standard payload (bib, split name, time) is sufficient
Use trigger New Raw Data, not "New Participant" or "All Changes". New Raw Data fires on every chip crossing — which is exactly what feeds each station time into the Gym Display as athletes move through the course.
4

Activate the webhook

Toggle the webhook to Active. It will now fire automatically on every chip crossing, with no time limit, for the life of the event.

Webhooks are sent by the SES instance running the event file. If you're timing offline, the webhook only fires from your local machine — your timing laptop must have an active internet connection. Even with online forwarding enabled, only the local SES sends webhooks.

Troubleshooting

Webhook endpoint returns 401The secret in the URL doesn't match — click the rotate icon (↻) in the Live Webhook section of the Race Day tab, copy the new URL, and re-paste it into Race Results
Test poll shows 0 splitsCheck the Event ID is correct and the Race Results event is published publicly (not password protected)
Live splits appear but wrong athlete namesBib numbers don't match — check Bib Matching in HRP vs the Race Results start list

Webhook fires but HRP badge doesn't updateRefresh the Race Day tab — the last-received timestamp reads from the database
