HYROX SkiErg Records — Fastest 1000m Ski Times

The SkiErg is the first workout station in a HYROX race, completed immediately after the opening 1km run. Athletes must cover 1,000 metres on a Concept2 SkiErg machine as fast as possible. Being the first station, athletes are relatively fresh, and the fastest SkiErg times in HYROX tend to come from those with strong upper-body endurance and efficient technique.

Top Pro men complete the 1,000m SkiErg in around 3:00–3:20, while elite women finish in approximately 3:30–4:00. For Open category athletes, times between 4:00 and 5:30 are common. Technique is crucial — athletes who maintain a powerful hip-hinge pull pattern with full extension outperform those who rely solely on arm strength.

The SkiErg is one of the most technique-dependent stations in HYROX. Athletes who train specifically on the SkiErg machine see the greatest improvements, as the movement pattern (standing pull-down) is not commonly replicated in other exercises.

Consider that many of the fastest single-station times are often achieved at the expense of the overall race time. The true elite racers — those finishing in the top 5 overall at Elite 15 events — typically hit the SkiErg in around 3:36 (men) and 4:14 (women).
